Kashmiri Chai Bubble Tea

What is Bubble tea? Bubble tea is a cold milk tea drink served with ice, sugar and chewy tapioca balls. Essentially it's iced tea with milk and tapioca balls. Bubble tea originated in Taiwan in the 1980s and today, it can be found all over the world.
Other names for Bubble tea include boba, boba tea, boba milk tea, and bubble milk tea.

The Bubble tea served at tea houses is delicious, but it's loaded with sugar- so here's our adaptation.  We have used our Gaia Botanica Kashmiri Chai for this fun tea recipe.

Serves 2

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of boiling water

1 tbsp Gaia Botanica Kashmiri Chai

2 tsp maple syrup

1/3 cup of black tapioca pearls (find these in Asian grocers)

1 cup of oat mylk

Ice

Method:

Prepare the black tapioca pearls as per packet instructions. Infuse Gaia Botanica Kashmiri Chai for 3-5 minutes in boiling water to make a stong and concentrated brew. Add maple syrup and stir to combine. Using a slotted spoon,  divide the black tapioca pearls between two glasses large glasses. Add  two large handfuls of ice to each glass.  Add 1/4 cup of cold water to each glass. Pour over brewed tea and top with mylk.
